This week's New Yorker magazine is the annual "food" issue. (Get it? Thanksgiving. Food.) Of interest to beer lovers: a long piece about extreme beer. Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head is the "main character," with appearances by, among others, Garrett Oliver (Brooklyn Brewery) and Jim Koch (maker of Sam Adams).
The Chicago Tribune is getting a jump on the up-coming 75th anniversary (December 5) of the ratification of the 21st Amendment (aka repeal) with a series of repeal photos. Worth taking a look. Tip o' the mug to David Fahey at the Alcohol and Drugs History Society's Daily Register.
