I speak as often as I can and to as many different gatherings of people as will have me. Gigs have included: Beer conventions. Marketing events for Dow Jones/Wall Street Journal. The Emily Dickinson Museum. The National Business Incubators Association. A year-end gathering of history graduate students.

I've written op-ed pieces for the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post, and appeared in a number of documentaries. Those include: "Key West: Bohemia In the Tropics," (Knockemdown Productions); “Modern Marvels: Plumbing" (History Channel); "Ultimate Factories: Budweiser" (National Geographic Channel); "The American Brew" (Florentine Films); “American Originals: Budweiser” (CNBC); and “Beer Wars” (Ducks In A Row Productions).

I'm currently writing a history of meat in America (working title: Meat: An American History, forthcoming, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt).
