Wired story on the upcoming Tim Burton exhibit at MOMA. (Have I ever mentioned that I’m a huge Burton fan?) (From whom, ahem, I am separated by only two degrees. But sadly have never met.) Big whoo-hooo from this corner: I’ll be in New York in late December, so I’ll get to see it.
What are the 2 degrees?I’m fascinated by this stuff, if only b/c today I met someone who was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix (and multiple other bands over 30 years) back just before Hendrix died. So while I have never really listened to Hendrix music, nor know a lot about him, the simple fact that I met someone who worked close to and with this famous musician is quite fascinating to me.And speaking of musicians, a favorite of mine is Robert Clay. An Ames acquaintance met his band in the Chicago aiport at the end of August (http://sarahsavage7.blogspot.com/2009/08/plans-are-made-to-be-messed-with.html). So given that, I’m only 3 degrees away from knowing Robert Cray.Having fun meeting people on our Home Free Tour.Cheers,Larry
Larry! Hello from back here in your former home. The two degrees are my step-daughter and son-in-law, who are close friends with Tim Burton’s long-time assistant producer. They’ve met TB and Helena (although since having babies, she doesn’t go ’round to the pub much). My s-d’s major thrill was meeting J. Depp a couple of years ago at the premier after-party for “Sweeney Todd.” Me? I’d have been waaay more excited about meeting Alan Rickman.Glad to hear you’re enjoyng the Tour!
